About Us
Continuing Education Strategy of the University of Vienna
Our aim is to support individuals in their personal educational and career paths through academic continuing education. To this end, the Postgraduate Center offers a wide range of university programs, master’s degrees, certificate courses, and open continuing education formats that reflect current developments.
These programs are research-based, interdisciplinary, high-quality, international, and practice-oriented. The comprehensive portfolio represents a key contribution by the University of Vienna to the knowledge society, to its “third mission,” and to the success of lifelong learning. The Postgraduate Center serves as the University of Vienna’s competence center for professional continuing education and lifelong learning.
*Please note that the tuition fees for our programs do not comply with the general tuition fee for studying at the University of Vienna.
We look forward to assisting you with finding the program that most suits your interest and needs, and to help you to plan your career path.
Scientific Continuing Education and the Third Mission
High-quality, research-based continuing education programs shape the University of Vienna’s profile as a research university with relevance for industry, business, policymaking, and society. Lifelong learning at the University of Vienna empowers participants to help address current and future societal challenges in a positive way and to contribute to advancing Europe’s prosperity.
The breadth of continuing education programs reflects the diversity of the academic disciplines anchored at the University of Vienna. Through a variety of program formats— master's programs, certificate courses, microcredentials, delivered on-site and online—we reach different target groups and meet learners where they are in their personal and professional lives. The thematic orientation of future programs is guided by the major societal challenges of today and tomorrow, and by the development areas defined in the University of Vienna’s Development Plan 2028.
