Flexible Online Part-Time Program for Working Professionals
The LL.M. program “European and International Business Law” provides focused, in-depth expertise in European and international business law. At its core is the internationally operating company – its legal position in the European Internal Market and in international commercial relations. The program offers a broad and systematic education that prepares you to practice business law with a European and international focus.
In the English part-time option, you study in a flexible, career-friendly format designed for working professionals. All courses of the online, part-time LL.M. program take place in the University of Vienna’s virtual classrooms via live streaming, offered as Friday/Saturday block courses throughout the academic year. You can choose the start date that suits you best – October or March – so you can align your studies with your professional and personal schedule.

In the part-time option, the courses are predefined to ensure excellent compatibility with your professional schedule. Courses are scheduled in compact blocks on Friday and Saturday, giving you a predictable rhythm that minimizes disruption to your workweek. All courses of the online part-time LL.M. program are offered in virtual classrooms of the University of Vienna (live-streaming). This structured format helps you plan ahead with confidence, stay focused on your goals and make steady progress alongside your career.

You develop a practice-oriented topic for your master’s thesis in European and international business law and produce a rigorous, well-founded analysis. The master’s thesis allows you to set individual areas of focus that reflect your personal interests and career goals. A seminar supports you in selecting a topic, refining your methodology and deepening your subject-matter expertise.

Requirements
- A first law degree/diploma (LLB, JD, etc.) or another degree/diploma of a program with a substantial legal education
- Non-native speakers must prove their good knowledge of English (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS)

Please submit the following documents via the registration form:
- CV
- Motivation Letter
- Academic degrees or any other graduation diplomas
- Transcripts of your previous studies
- Official photo ID
- Proof of English language proficiency (only for non-native speakers who did not graduate from an English-language program)

Admission
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Admissions are done on a rolling basis. The number of spaces of the program is limited. Admission is based on the availability of free spaces, the date of application and your qualifications.

Yes. If your application is successful, you will receive admission on the condition that you can provide proof of completion of your first degree before the start of the LL.M. program.

Students in the LL.M. program “European and International Business Law” have several years of professional experience and come from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Some also enroll in the LL.M. program immediately after completing their undergraduate studies. This mix of different levels of experience creates a highly dynamic, interactive and multicultural learning environment for the lectures. Students come from all around the world to attend this LL.M. program.
