As the Postgraduate Center of the University of Vienna, we build on the successful outcomes of the EUMA project “Creating a European Higher Education Network for Master’s Programs in Disaster Risk Management”, which was implemented in partnership with leading universities in Vienna (Austria), Bonn (Germany), Pisa (Italy), Alès (France), Tallinn (Estonia), Dublin (Ireland), and Twente (Netherlands). Within this collaboration, a comprehensive curriculum for advanced education in disaster management and civil protection was successfully developed with funding from the European Union.
Building on this achievement, the curriculum has now led to the establishment of the new postgraduate program EUMA - “International Disaster Management and Civil Protection.” We are proud to host, offer, and operate this postgraduate program at the Postgraduate Center of the University of Vienna. Prof. Dr. Thomas Glade, who coordinated the consortium of the EUMA project, will serve as Academic Director for both the Master’s Program and the Academic Experts Program.
The application process will open shortly, submission deadline is 31st of May 2026.
We are looking forward to welcoming future professionals dedicated to strengthening resilience and advancing expertise in disaster management and civil protection across Europe.
