As part of the Irish Presidency’s workshop program on civil protection (Preparedness Union Approach), Thomas Glade, Academic Director of the EUMA – International Disaster Management and Civil Protection postgraduate program, served as a speaker at a panel discussion on “Recovery and Resilience (Disaster Risk Management Cycle): The Recovery Roadmap.”
The aim of the discussion was to highlight the importance of long-term resilience in all phases of the disaster risk management cycle and to explore approaches for integrating it sustainably into prevention, response, and recovery. The focus was on protecting critical infrastructure from extreme weather events.

In addition to the panel discussion, Thomas Glade and Peter Billing presented the EUMA university course during a joint information session. They provided insights into the international postgraduate continuing education and exchanged views with participants on current developments and training opportunities in the field of disaster management and civil protection.
