Introduction Basics of Psychological Psychotherapy
Approbation-ready: Fundamentals of Psychotherapy
If you are aiming to obtain a psychotherapy license in Germany, one thing matters above all else: that the content of your training truly aligns with the requirements. This is exactly where this certificate program comes in. It specifically addresses the gaps that exist in the “Psychology” bachelor’s program at Austrian universities with regard to the German licensing regulations—thereby providing you with a clear and solid foundation for the next steps toward your training as a psychotherapist.
In four coordinated modules, you will deepen your understanding of professional ethics and law, medical fundamentals and psychopharmacology, as well as scientifically recognized psychotherapy methods. During the supervised internship, you will also gain initial insights into real-world care settings and experience how psychotherapeutic work is concretely integrated into institutions in Germany. The certificate program is organized to run concurrently with your studies over four semesters and is delivered in a hybrid format: All courses can also be completed online. Additionally, you’ll benefit from credit transfer options for the Psychotherapeutic Propaedeutic Program in Austria—and gradually build your profile so that your path toward psychotherapy becomes more predictable, tangible, and secure.
